This was a wonderful article. It begins with an anecdote of one baby who was saved by Safe Haven and is now happy and healthy with her adoptive family.
Then, we find out that this story is to commemorate a very impressive landmark in Illinois history: the 1st anniversary of the last child that was illegally abandoned in the state. That’s right it has been 10 years since Safe Haven laws were enacted in Illinois and this year was the first full year where no children were abandoned without being given to a Safe Haven location.
I could not be happier for child advocates in the state of Illinois and also for little Molly, just one of the many children saved so far.
