This first article is heart-warming.  It is exactly the kind of article I wish so much that I could report on every day.

It reports on the 10th anniversary celebration of the Safe Surrender program in Los Angeles.  Many families with children adopted because of the program were in attendance and there were many smiles and many tears.  Sadly, even with all of the publicity an average of 5 newborns are still found dead every year in Los Angeles county.

The second bonus article I have included also covers the 10th anniversary, but there is something else I found very interesting.  The Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center has a pretty amazing system for how parents can safely and anonymously drop off babies.
