My initial reaction to today’s story was: “Well, this is ridiculous!”

A 35-year-old woman gave birth to a baby boy, then wrapped him in a towel and left him on the ground in her backyard overnight.  The woman Kimberly Lee claims that she thought the baby was not alive at birth.  Yet, her 13-year-old son found the baby crying in the yard the next morning and called the police.

The father said he did not know his wife had given birth.  The other three children are being closely monitored by the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.  The baby seems to be in good health after the ordeal.
