Some stories of infant mistreatment make me incredibly sad.  Some stories of infant mistreatment make me incredibly angry.  This is one of those stories.

A woman who was supposed to be babysitting decided to get a bit of work done at the same time.  She thought it would be a good idea to go clean an apartment while leaving the baby in a car… by herself… in 70 degree heat.  When she came back to the car, the child was unresponsive.  In addition to the shocking stupidity of the woman involved, the worst part of the story for me is that the woman did not get any mandatory jail time.  She was fined only $308.

The article was short and left a lot of unanswered questions.  Had the woman abandoned this child or others like this before?  How long had the mother known this woman that she trusted to care for her child?  What did the mother have to say about the issue?  Most importantly, is she going to file a lawsuit against the woman for endangering the life of her child?  If anyone has any answers for us, please leave a comment.
