Need yet another reason why Safe Haven Laws are necessary? The number of children who grow up in poverty is on the rise. This means that fewer and fewer children have access to healthy foods, vitamins, and medical care.
A lot of parents who voluntarily give up their parental rights do so in recognition of the fact that they cannot properly provide for a child. They are unable to give their babies the kind of life they feel that they deserve. Some of these parents really do make the best choice for their baby by letting them go. Many are in much safer, more competent hands when they are adopted.
