A baby girl was found dead in a river over Labor Day weekend.
She had a bag with her that had three porcelain angels in it, among other things. Although an autopsy has not yet been performed to discover the cause of death, police are still looking for the mother to ensure she does not need medical attention.
Police are also asking everyone in the Winona County to take a look at the items with the infant to see if they can help identify who the parents might be. Right now police only want to ensure the safety of the mother, but an autopsy may reveal a cause of death that necessitates a criminal investigation.
