A mother in Baton Rouge has been charged with first degree murder of her newborn baby.
The case is actually almost a decade old, but police never gave up on the case. When it was revisited recently, the DNA was compared to a few suspects who were questioned at the time. Joann King, 28 was the only suspect who’s DNA was a close match. She finally admitted to the murder when police questioned her this time. There is no statute of limitations on murder and she will be tried soon for the killing.
Safe Haven laws were in effect in Louisiana at the time of the murder.
