This is another article on the baby found abandoned by a church dumpster. This one piqued my interest moreso than others, however. The author states that not knowing about Safe Haven Laws is not an excuse for child abandonment. I could not agree more.
So many times I have begged and pleaded for everyone to share information on these laws, but really is lack of information the problem? I don’t think so. Even if Safe Haven Laws were not in place, would it ever be okay to abandon an infant in a parking lot, bathroom, or dumpster? NO! Who are these people who could even fathom leaving a helpless newborn in an unsafe place? It just does not make sense to me. I would love to hear your thoughts.
