Cheers to Secret Safe Place for Newborns Tennessee who had a fundraising luau for Safe Haven last month. I am sorry I did not see this article before the benefit, but I still want to cover it.
I am so happy there are organizations out there with people willing to give up their time and money to benefit such a worthy cause. Many states do not have any funds in their budget to ensure that Safe Haven Laws are publicized or even that identifying signs are posted. Without fantastic organizations like Secret Safe Place for Newborns, who knows how many more sad stories I would have to report on abandoned infants. Their contribution is impossible to measure and profoundly appreciated.
