This story could have been much worse, but it is still a mark in the ‘loss’ column for Safe Haven.
A baby was found abandoned in the laundry room of a South Carolina apartment complex. The newborn still had his umbilical cord attached. Officials say it appears as though the woman gave birth in the laundry room.
Need any more reasons why you should spread the word about Safe Haven laws? So that no more mothers have to give birth, scared and alone, in places like this. I really wish this mother knew her options. Something terrible could have happened before the baby was found and there would not be a search out for the mother who could now face criminal charges.
