The main part of the article that has stayed with me is the phrase “Fix parenting, I’ve often said, and you fix the problems of the world.”
I like this very much. An unimaginable number of problems in the world could be solved if everyone had perfect parents. Unfortunately, that is just not the reality of the world. In the world we live in, there are some people who are unwilling to be a parent or incapable of being a parent. Regardless of how anyone feels about this, it is undeniable that there must be an alternative for these people simply for the sake of the children.
That is where Safe Haven Laws have their place. Safe Haven Laws are not perfect, but like it or not… they are necessary for the foreseeable future.
