19- year- old Kaitlin Norton obviously had no idea Safe Haven Laws existed when she decided to abandon her newborn in a yard the same day he was born recently.  Missouri, like all of the other 49 states, has provisions which allow parents to safely relinquish their parental rights to a hospital, fire station, or other location depending on the state.  This can be done 100% anonymously.

Thankfully, this baby is fine, but it could have been so much worse.  Please talk to your friends and family about Safe Haven.  The lives of so many babies could be saved every year with just one little conversation.
